CLOCKWORK OWL CLICKS DURING MUSEUM GALA REHEARSAL
Staff insist the brass bird is decorative, despite it apparently disagreeing.
A clockwork owl displayed at Maplewick Museum startled volunteers yesterday when it began clicking in a repeating rhythm.
Museum staff say the mechanism is old, delicate, and “unlikely to be sending a message.” This has not stopped several children from counting the clicks.
The Herald will continue to monitor the owl and any shadows it may cast at four o’clock.
